John, 78, and his 73-year-old wife Margaret won top prize in the Tigers Birthday Draw, which included an adventure day driving off-road vehicles, clay pigeon shooting and archery.
Margaret said: “When you are in your mid-70s you don’t feel you will go dune-buggy driving or 4x4 driving. To have that opportunity was incredible.
“We were the oldest couple on the course but it really was an amazing day.”
John added: “The adventure day was incredible. The dune buggy driving was amazing and after that we had the cross-country. We drove the 4x4s through the mud and up and down banks. We loved it!”
The adventure day was one part of a fantastic Birthday Draw prize. John and Margaret, season ticket holders in the Crumbie Stand, won a theatre break in London which included tickets to see Oliver, an Italian meal and a night in a top hotel. The couple, from Ashby who have been season ticket holders for more than 30 years, also enjoyed a spa break at Champneys near Ashby as part of their prize.
Margaret said: “We just wanted to say thank you to all at Tigers and now we look forward to another successful year.”
The Birthday Draw is Tigers' own lottery which helps raise funds for the club Academy. For £1 per week you are entered into a draw where you can win £100 every weekday and a monthly star prize worth more than £1,000.
