Leicester Tigers season ticket sales have topped the 10,000 mark for the 2010/11 season - even before the final whistle is blown in the current campaign.

Tigers will run out for the closing fixture of the 2009/10 – the Guinness Premiership Final against Saracens at Twickenham this afternoon – in the knowledge that supporters are already booking their places for next season.

Club managing director David Clayton said: “Season ticket numbers hit a record of more than 13,000 for this year and to have 10,000 supporters already committed to joining us for next season at this stage is tremendous news.

“The multi-year season ticket has been popular and a large number of supporters took the option to ‘top-up’ for next year even before we started the renewals process.

“Also within the 10,000 which have already been sold for next season are around 500 new season ticket holders. That is excellent news and shows just how the matchday atmosphere at Welford Road and the performances of the team can make a big impression on our newcomers.

“Opening the Caterpillar Stand this season allowed us to welcome many more new supporters and we’re delighted that so many of them are committed to supporting the team in the longer term.

“Tigers won 16 times on home soil this season and there is no doubting the value of that ‘16th man’ in the stands.”

Supporters can take advantage of the best available season ticket prices by booking before 5pm on June 1, with prices starting from just £16 per match for adults or £6 per match for juniors.

There are price categories for adults, 65-plus, young adults and full-time students, juniors and families. And an easy-payment plan is available to spread the cost over six months.

A Tigers season ticket includes every home game in the Guinness Premiership, pool rounds of Europe's Heineken Cup and the LV= Cup, plus the pre-season fixture against 2009 Heineken Cup winners Leinster on Saturday, August 28.

It also entitles supporters to some great benefits, including priority application for knockout matches, away games and internationals, 10-per-cent discount in the Tigers Club Shop, two complimentary tickets for friends and family for a match of your choice, and an exclusive invitation to a Tigers training session.

Supporters can book season tickets by visiting the ticket office at Welford Road, phoning the hotline on 0844 856 1880 or by logging on to the tickets pages of the club website by clicking here.
