A team representing Leicester Tigers team reached the semi-finals in a thrilling day of Premiership Rugby's Urban Rugby Squad National Tag Rugby Festival on Monday afternoon.Squads from Tigers, Bath, Exeter Chiefs, Gloucester, Harlequins, London Irish, Sale Sharks, Saracens and Wasps showcased their skills, with the semi-finals and final played at The Twickenham Stoop, home of Quins.   Tigers were in Pool A where they played against teams from Harlequins, Wasps, London Irish and Saracens, and won three out of the four games.   The Chiefs were the opponents in the semi-final after winning all of their pool games and Tigers were unable to end their winning run, with Chiefs going on to win the final against Quins.   Sam Swift, Tigers community delivery manager, said: “The Tigers squad did fantastically well and played some lovely rugby, cruising through their group in the shadow of Twickenham stadium. “They unfortunately fell short in the semi-final against a very strong Exeter side.   “All in all, it was a great day and a memorable experience for all the Urban Tigers.”   The Urban Rugby Squad is a ground-breaking initiative run by Premiership Rugby and its clubs which has seen hundreds of young people aged 14-16 from disadvantaged communities across England participate in regular sporting activity and personal development. The programme has received substantial backing from BT Sport, through its charitable initiative The Supporters Club and Restart Rugby, the Official Charity of The Rugby Players’ Association (RPA).   For more details please see premiershiprugby.com/UrbanRugbySquad
