Seru Rabeni auction open online

Figure image
An online auction in support of the family of former Leicester Tigers centre Seru Rabeni, who died in Fiji at the age of just 37 earlier this year, opens today.

Rabeni was an immensely popular figure in 63 appearances for Tigers from 2004, playing a major role in the club’s league and cup double win of 2006/07. He was also a Premiership title winner with Leicester in 2008/09.

Known for his immense power on the pitch and a beaming smile off it, Rabeni also won 30 caps for Fiji and nine for the combined Pacific Islanders. After leaving Leicester, he had spells with Leeds, La Rochelle and Mont-de-Marsan before beginning a coaching career which included spells in the USA and Hong Kong.

A group of Tigers supporters organised a collection in Seru’s memory to support his family and were overwhelmed by the generosity of fans.

Now they have collected a number of items for auction, which is now live on ebay.

Click here to see the items available.

The auction will be live for seven days and features a selection of signed rugby shirts, balls and photographs with all proceeds going to Seru’s family.

Thank you to everyone who has donated items and especially to supporters Matthew Lane, Joanne Boyce, Bronwen Morgan Jones and Shaun Gibson who have worked so hard to bring this together in memory of a Tigers Family favourite.
