Tigers ready for Welsh test with England

England head coach Eddie Jones includes four Leicester Tigers players in his squad to face Wales on Saturday.

Freddie Steward and Ellis Genge start in the third round of the Guinness Six Nations, with club colleagues Ben Youngs and George Ford among the replacements.

Scrum-half Youngs equalled Jason Leonard’s England caps record in his last outing against Italy and would move one ahead if he is used from the bench for his 115th game.

Tigers forward Ollie Chessum has also remained in the England camp this week.

Courtney Lawes returns as captain while Kyle Sinckler will make his 50th appearance. Manu Tuilagi returns from injury at inside centre.

Jones said: “Wales are a good, tough side and Six Nations champions and it will make for an exciting Test match in front of a full Twickenham crowd.

“We’ve got a talented, young, hungry squad who have trained with real intensity this week. We’re ready to go at them and can’t wait to play in front of our supporters again.

“It will also be a special match with two significant milestones for Ben and Kyle, both of who have made outstanding contributions to English rugby so far in their careers.  We congratulate them and we know there is more to come ahead for them.”

The match is live on ITV and BBC Radio 5 Live (4.45pm KO).

There is big-screen coverage live at Mattioli Woods Welford Road on Saturday after the Tigers’ home game against Gloucester in Final Whistle and corporate areas.
