After an opening round defeat away to Exeter and a roller coaster week to follow, which included the departure of a head coach and passionate Fans Forum addressing the club's recruitment policy and plans in the opening two days, a Welford Road win in front of more than 20,000 fans was the perfect remedy for a Tigers squad feeling the heat so early on in the season.
Up against the last side to defeat Tigers at home, in the final Welford Road appearance of the 2017/18 season, there was no better team to make a statement against than Newcastle Falcons to return smiles to the faces of the Tigers Family - and didn't they do just that!
With a bonus-point ticked off the list in less than half an hour and a rampaging Manu Tuilagi setting the crowd alight with a 50m run to the line, over the top of a few Falcons on the way, the world's best club rugby crowd were dancing in the stands before the half-time whistle.
There were some happy Tigers on the pitch too and, following the game, let it be known across social media just how much they enjoyed not only the win but the chance to be back in front of their family and friends at Welford Road.
Nothing like that winning feeling again. Hats off to the whole team. Great performances all round 👏🏻 #Tigers pic.twitter.com/tkG0pN6IvV

George Ford, Ben Youngs, Greg Bateman, Telusa Veainu and even Matt Toomua - all the way from Australia - posted about the win and strong support from the stands after the game.
Meanwhile, two of the newest Tigers in town, Dave Denton and Guy Thompson not only shared their enjoyment in claiming the bonus-point victory but also the opportunity to take to the famous Welford Road turf in the famous red, white and green for the first time.
