Smith helps the next generation on Rugby Camp

Matt Smith visited one of the first Tigers Rugby Camps of the summer to pass on his expert tips to the next generation of players.

Young players are learning from Tigers coaches, and players, on camps at Stamford School and Swaffham RUFC.

Smith, who passed 200 appearances for his home-town club during the 2016/17 season, visited Stamford School for a Q&A, to sign autographs and to take part in some coaching.

South Africa international prop Pat Cilliers is due to visit the Swaffham camp this week.

Tigers camps return next week with centre George Catchpole due to return to his home county Norfolk to visit the camp at Diss RFC, scrum-half Sam Harrison set to visit Shipston-on-Stour RFC and new signing Joe Ford due to be at the camp at Lichfield RFC.

Other venues to welcome the Tigers this summer are Lincoln, North Walsham RFC, Coalville, Market Harborough, Market Rasen & Louth, Lutterworth, Leamington, Shrewsbury and Kesteven rugby clubs as well as Ratcliffe College and Trent College.

Tigers Rugby Camps include tag rugby camp for under-sevens and under-eights and contact camps for players aged under-nines to under-15s.

Places are still available on camps throughout the summer. Book now by clicking the tab below or call 0116 319 8888 (option 2).

Tigers Rugby Camps offer a fun, safe and active way for children to spend their summer holidays and make new friends while working on their game with professional coaches.

Camps are suitable for beginners and more experienced players. Participants will receive top-quality coaching, a Rugby Camp T-shirt, and ball and Tigers drinks bottle, membership to the Junior Tigers Club and a free junior match ticket to an allocated Welford Road fixture.
