"I thought the team was really solid through the whole game and concentrated very well," said Loffreda after tries from Johne Murphy, Tom Varndell, Dan Hipkiss and Tom Croft helped to ensure a third win in as many games in league and cup.
"Sale are a good team with good players but we did well. The game started in terrible conditions and we had to play with more of a kicking game but we were smart in doing that.
"Conditions were better in the second half, though we said we still had to be careful with possession and look after the ball. We had to be patient."
Luke McAlister crossed for Sale's only try during the second half - the first touchdown conceded by Tigers in the run of three consecutive wins.
"We made some mistakes in our defence, they broke us and we did not keep the line," said Loffreda who must now turn his attentions to the back-to-back fixtures against Toulouse in the Heineken Cup, starting at Welford Road next Saturday afternoon.
"I said last week that the three games coming up - from Sale and the Toulouse games home and away - were a big challenge and very important for the team and the club," said Loffreda.
"We have passed the first one but now we have two more."
Opposite number Philippe Saint Andre thought his side had been a decent match for Tigers until two breakaway scores in the second half.
"At 20-8 we can score and come back at them but then they scored two tries and the game is over," he said. "I was pleased with the play of our forwards and we were in the game for 70 or 75 minutes. We matched them quite well but we know Leicester are a good team and a good squad."
