Special prices for Saxons date

Figure image
Have you bought your tickets yet to see England Saxons against Ireland A at Welford Road on Friday, February 1?

If not, remember the discounted prices available to season ticket holders and members are available only until December 10.

It is 10 years since an ‘A’ international fixture came to Welford Road so you cannot afford to miss out this time and a big crowd is expected on the night.

Tigers have been awarded this game by the Rugby Football Union but the special discounts allow season ticket holders and members to treat not just themselves but also family and friends at the same price. You could even make it part of their Christmas!

The Saxons squad is the last stepping stone before senior international honours and there is hardly an international name who has not come through this route in recent years.

In the Tigers squad, for instance, Richard Blaze, Ayoola Erinle, Tom Croft and Jordan Crane made Saxons appearances last season, while previous caps at this level have been earned by the likes of George Chuter, Martin Corry, Louis Deacon, Harry Ellis, Andy Goode, Ben Kay, Ollie Smith and Sam Vesty, not forgetting Martin Johnson, Neil Back and Graham Rowntree.

And almost all of England’s 2007 World Cup squad made an impression at Saxons level before moving up and reaching the final in the autumn.

You could see some of the biggest stars of the next generation of England players in action at Welford Road in February.

Prices start from just £10 standing and £12 seating for adult season ticket holders, and £15/£18 for members. Seats are sold on a first come, first served basis so you are advised to book early if you want to secure your usual spaces.

Contact the Tigers ticket office now, phone 08701 28 34 30, go online at http://www.leicestertigers.com/ or visit the ticket office at Welford Road. Tickets bought online will be charged at the full price.
