A novel networking lunch hosted by Leicester Tigers has been given the thumbs up by the club's player sponsors.
The sponsors swapped contacts and discussed business opportunities during a speed networking event at Welford Road.
Dozens of sponsors attended the event, at which they were given a set time to pitch to fellow sponsors before the roles were reversed.
Mark York is the business manager at Watson Fuels, who sponsor Tigers and England centre Anthony Allen. He said: "The events at Tigers are well managed and the communication is good and I met some people we can do business with.
"I have got a number of people who could aid our business and a few people who are interested in what we do that I am going to get back to.
"The great thing is bringing people together with a similar interest in a relaxed environment."
The speed networking lunch was held in the 1880 Lounge in the new Caterpillar Stand.
Helen Wakerley, partner at Reddie & Grose, a leading firm of patent and trademark attorneys who sponsor Tigers and Argentina full-back Lucas Amorosino, said: "The idea of having a bell going to make people move on is excellent and stops people being nervous about approaching people."
Lisa Dhanjal, chief operations manager at The Bobby Dhanjal Practice, added: "We have met with a lot of different people who can use what we do. It's been really good, enjoyable and worthwhile."
Tristan Prosser-Shaw, Tigers corporate sales executive, said: "The whole event was similar in style to speed dating and was aimed at helping our sponsors to network and develop new contacts, ideas and business.
"Everyone was given a minute to introduce their business before the role was reversed.
"The fact that they all have Leicester Tigers as a common interest made for a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and there were certainly plenty of business cards changing hands."
