The wait is over, says Spencer

Will Spencer caught up with LTTV to preview the Heineken Champions Cup clash with Scarlets following the side's Captain's Run in preparation for the European fixture at Welford Road.

The Leicester Tigers lock will make his much awaited return to action after a month on the sidelines following a suspension in the Gallagher Premiership fixture with Wasps in Round 3, which Spencer admits has been a frustrating period while watching on.

"It has been very frustrating, not being out there with the boys," said Spencer.

"The wait is over, I am really looking forward to tomorrow night.

"It's a huge game, I'm looking forward to getting stuck in."

While admittedly conscious of not over-stepping the mark with his trademark physicality on the pitch, the towering lock will be holding nothing back when he takes to turf in his first European outing for Leicester, which is something he also says was a big factor in his off-season move to Tigers from Worcester Warriors.

"I try to come out firing ... I love the physical side of the game," he said.

"Part of the reason I joined Tigers was to play in big games ... these are the games you want to be involved in."

When asked what was required from the side to register the first win of the new Champions Cup season, it came as no surprise Spencer again reverted back to the battle up front.

"We have got to be physical ... we have to keep to our structures and systems."
