Leicester Tigers enjoyed their first squad get-together of the summer with a cricket match in aid of the Matt Hampson Foundation on Sunday.

On the eve of the return to pre-season training, the players and coaching staff joined together in a Tigers XI to play against a Matt Hampson XI at the home of Kibworth Cricket Club.

Supporters were blessed with a warm and sunny day as Tigers took the honours in a close-fought game, with Richard Cockerill, Aaron Mauger, Richard Blaze and team manager Matt Cornwell joined by players including Tom Croft, Peter Betham, Sam Harrison, Mike Williams, Matt Smith and George Catchpole.

Back-rower Croft lit up the Tigers innings with some big-hitting, with Smith also making a decent contribution, while Mauger was among the bowlers to make an impact as the Tigers team won by three runs.

The Hambo squad included Tigers legend Martin Corry and former All Blacks Craig Newby and Scott Hamilton.
