Leicester Tigers welcomed player sponsors and executive box holders to see behind the scenes at Oval Park in the build-up to the new season.Club chief executive Simon Cohen, coach Richard Blaze and team manager Matt Cornwell were among the tour guides as guests learned about the work that goes into fitness, conditioning and coaching of a professional team.
Director of rugby Richard Cockerill, welcoming the sponsors and box holders, said: “It is important that our sponsors have an emotional attachment to the club, as well as a financial one, and it is our privilege to welcome returning sponsors and new ones to the Tigers family alongside a number of new signings this summer.
“As a club we invest heavily in the rugby side of the operation so we can give our players the best preparation to play and we generate what we spend through sponsorship and bringing supporters through the gate.
“We all want the same thing for the team and we all have the same expectation of success.”
Player sponsors and Welford Road box holders watched the team at work at Oval Park and shared in tours of the medical and conditioning facilities before meeting the squad for a pitchside lunch.
