The new Caterpillar Stand will open for the first time for Saturday’s Guinness Premiership fixture taking the Welford Road capacity up to 24,000.
Even before last weekend, more than 20,000 tickets have been sold and fly-half Staunton says the players are already looking forward to the game.
Staunton said: “This weekend we will have the new stand and a big crowd, let’s see if we can put on a show. Newcastle Falcons are a dangerous side but we are looking forward to it.”
The Ireland international was in excellent form with the boot as Tigers recorded a first win of the season last Saturday.
Staunton kicked five penalties as Tigers beat Harlequins 15-9 at the Twickenham Stoop.
But the 29-year-old was quick to praise the rest of the team, and the pack in particular, for the hard-fought win.
He said: “Our scrum was incredible for us, just when we needed it. When it looked like neither team was going to score a try the guys did an epic job, getting three penalties. In the end that proved the difference, really.”
