Hooker Jimmy Stevens has agreed a move to Leicester Tigers for the start of the 2018/19 season.

Born in Truro, Stevens came through the Tigers academy to make his senior debut for the club in 2012 as well as earning England age-group recognition, and then had spells with London Irish and Nottingham before agreeing a return to Welford Road.

Stevens was named in the Championship Dream Team for the 2017/18 season and made his final appearance for Nottingham against Rotherham at the end of the campaign.

He made one on-loan appearance for Tigers in the Anglo-Welsh Cup against Wasps this season and has now agreed a return to his first professional club.

The 27-year-old said: I’m delighted to be re-joining the Tigers. It’s a great club and I can’t wait to be back in top-flight rugby.”

Tigers head coach Matt O’Connor said: “Jimmy obviously knows the club really well, having come through the academy here, and has gained a good level of experience with London Irish and Nottingham.

“We look forward to seeing him work with the senior squad again when he returns and adding to our depth in the front-row positions.”
