Reffell stars in history-making Welsh win

Tommy Reffell was named Player of the Match in Wales' one-point, 12-13 victory over South Africa in the second match of the 2022 Test series.

The Leicester Tigers back-rower was at his menacing best at the breakdown in the first-ever Welsh victory on South African soil.

In just his second Test appearance, Reffell joined club-mate Jack van Poortvliet in being named Player of the Match after the scrum-half starred in England's series-levelling win over Australia in Brisbane.

The Springboks were captained by soon-to-be Tiger Handrè Pollard, in his first Test outing of 2022 and debut in the captaincy role.

With the series levelled at one win each, the series will be decided in Cape Town on Saturday (July 16).

Elsewhere, Julián Montoya and fellow Premiership-winning Leicester team-mate Matías Moroni featured in Argentina's second Test of their series against Scotland.

Montoya was replaced at hooker after 55 minutes, while Moroni came on as a replacement with 12 minutes to play.

After defeating the Scots in the first Test, Los Pumas went down 6-29 in Saturday's fixture.

The third and final Test is on Saturday (July 16).
