For a second year, Tigers have teamed up with ABF The Soldiers Charity to help raise vital funds on a big-match afternoon.

The Soldiers’ Charity provides lifetime support to serving and retired soldiers and their families, and have been doing so for 66 years. The charity helps more than 4,000 people annually and in the last two years have seen a 30-per-cent rise in applications from soldiers who have taken part in previous and current conflicts. Around £7million a year is raised to meet this need.

Charity wristbands will be available from soldiers around the Welford Road stadium on Saturday and Tigers will be making a donation through the Cashback scheme at half-time.

Also, as part of Saturday’s big-match build-up, Tigers are expecting a special guest to drop in so keep your eyes on the sky at 4.25pm (weather permitting).

Lieutenant Colonel Jack Tarr OBE, regional director fund-raising, said: “The target is to increase fund-raising to £14million a year by 2015 to ensure that we can help each and every soldier that needs our help. We depend entirely on your donations and goodwill to do this.

“We would like to thank the supporters at Welford Road for their most generous support last year, raising over £8,000.”
