Supporters continue return to Welford Road

A select group of Leicester Tigers fans took the opportunity to enjoy socially-distanced coverage of the club's Round 19 Gallagher Premiership fixture at the club’s Welford Road home.

The Clubhouse Suite situated in The Robin Hood Stand welcomed groups of guests to the Premiership Club ahead of the evening kick-off in Coventry.

Tigers fly-half Zack Henry had a special message for supporters ahead of the game, while centre Matt Scott dialled into a Zoom call direct from his lounge for an exclusive half-time chat.

Supporters also enjoyed a chicken curry served with rice, naan bread, poppadoms and chutneys and a complimentary drink, all to the backdrop of the Welford Road pitch.

The two-hour event, which welcomed supporters seated at tables of four to six people from the same family or social bubble, showed coverage of the game on an 85” Ultra HD television.

There was also the chance to win a number of prizes courtesy of Burleigh’s Gin as well as a signed Leicester Tigers 2019/20 Home shirt.

While supporters are still not allowed into stadiums to watch sport, the Premiership Club is the closest way for fans to still experience rugby at Welford Road.

With only a handful of Premiership matches left before Tigers continue their European Challenge Cup venture at home in the quarter-finals to Castres on Sunday, September 20 (3.00pm), keep an eye out across LeicesterTigers.com for more socially distanced events and opportunities for fans to experience at Welford Road.
