Supporters mean so much for prop Castro

Martin Castrogiovanni has sent his thanks to the club's supporters for their part in convincing him that his future lies at Leicester Tigers.

Castrogiovanni, who has agreed to remain at the club despite interest from elsewhere, said: “A player has to think about of lot of things when he is trying to decide on the future, and money is not everything.

"I have always said that I enjoy my rugby at Leicester Tigers, I like it here and I always had in my mind that I wanted to stay.

“The club and the players have been great for me and I am very happy here."

Castrogiovanni is approaching 100 appearances for the club he joined from Calvisano in the summer of 2006 and has had a great rapport with supporters over the last four-and-a-half years.

"The supporters have been brilliant," he said.

"The support they have shown me has been unbelievable. I saw some of them recently with their Castro masks and beards at the games and it makes me very happy.

“I am extremely happy that we have now come to an agreement with the club.

“I am really proud to be part of this club. I want to give 100 per cent for the shirt because it is a Leicester Tigers shirt.”
