Club historian Stuart Farmer and members of the memorabilia committee, including former players Brian Hall and Mike Harrison, welcomed supporters to share any memorabilia from the club’s 130-year history.
“It’s been an enjoyable exercise,” said Farmer.
“We’ve had a steady flow of people coming in with photos, letters, souvenirs, newspaper cuttings and old membership cards. For us it is a process of cataloguing what is out there to combine with the records of items already in our possession.”
Among the items brought in on Tuesday was a player’s cap presented in 1902/03.
“Geoff Blackburn, who I’ve known for many years, brought in the cap which belonged to his father,” said Stuart. “It is hand-made, embroidered with the player’s name and in excellent condition. Geoff has very generously donated it to the club, which is great news.”
