Mathew Tait faces surgery after suffering a fractured jaw in Sunday's win over Harlequins at Welford Road.

The Leicester Tigers full-back was injured in a clash of heads after an hour of the Aviva Premiership clash and is now facing a spell on the sidelines.

“Taity has fractured his jaw so he will have surgery on that and we’re probably looking at six to eight weeks recovery,” said Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill. “He went for a high ball and clashed heads with Marland Yarde and has a fracture across his jaw line.”

Tom Croft (head) and Marcos Ayerza (calf) were also withdrawn during the Quins match, though Cockerill reports there is some good news on injuries with Manu Tuilagi, Mike Williams and Michele Rizzo making good progress after a long-term absence from action.
