Team news: Tigers versus Saracens

World Cup winner Brad Thorn will captain Leicester Tigers for the first time in Sunday's Aviva Premiership Round 7 match against Saracens at Welford Road (1pm).

Thorn leads Tigers in just his fifth appearance for the club, joining England squad member Graham Kitchener in the second row.

Dan Cole is given a starting place at prop after making his return from a neck injury in the cup win over Sale Sharks last weekend. He joins Italy international prop Michele Rizzo and hooker Harry Thacker in the front row.

In the backline, there is a place for Blaine Scully on his return from international duty with the USA, and Matt Smith joins Anthony Allen at centre. At full-back, Mathew Tait makes his 50th appearance in a Tigers shirt.

Tommy Bell is included in the matchday 23 for the first time in the Aviva Premiership since his arrival from Jersey last month and he is joined among the replacements by back-rower Paul Grant who is on loan from Nottingham.

Sunday’s match is a 1pm kick-off and tickets are available now.

Book in person at Welford Road, phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2). The ticket office is open 9am-5pm on Friday and Saturday and from 9am on matchday this week.
