Mellish RFC in Nottinghamshire hosted the fourth Prima Tiger Cup festival of the season on Sunday.Supported by Prima Solutions of Loughborough, the Prima Tiger Cup is a free-to-enter tournament for under-10s teams and the opening festivals have already attracted 60 teams.
Teams representing Burntwood, Chesterfield, Dronfield, Kesteven, Mansfield, Market Rasen & Louth, Mellish, Melton Mowbray, Newcastle under Lyme, Nottingham Corsairs, Nottingham Moderns, Oadby Wyggestonian, Paviours, Scunthorpe, Sheffield Tigers, Spalding, Stamford, Stratford upon Avon, Syston and Trentham took part in the festival on Sunday.
The players and their supporters at Mellish RFC were also joined by Leicester Tigers winger Miles Benjamin who watched the games and enjoyed the action before joining the groups for their team photos.
Spalding and Stamford have been invited back to play in the Prima Tiger Cup qualifiers, while Scunthorpe and Syston will play in the Prima Tiger Bowl qualifiers, both to be played at Welford Road on the same day as a Tigers first-team game later in the season.
The Prima tournament features five qualifying festivals around the Tigers region with the final remaining festival scheduled for this Sunday (November 15) at Newmarket RFC.
