The 2015/16 Champions Cup will come a step nearer when this season's tournament is officially launched in London on Wednesday.Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill and captain Ed Slater will represent the club at the event at the Twickenham Stoop.
They will be joined by head coaches and directors of rugby, and the captains of the Aviva Premiership clubs as well as the qualifying teams from the Guinness Pro 12, including Leicester’s Pool 4 opponents Benetton Treviso and Munster Rugby.
The Tigers media team will also be there, taking fans behind the scenes and giving them exclusive access via social media. Keep an eye on the Official Leicester Tigers Facebook page, @LeicesterTigers on Twitter and @LeicesterTigers on Instagram.
Welford Road sets the stage when Leicester Tigers and Stade Francais raise the curtain on this season’s Champions Cup on Friday, November 13 (7.45pm).
There is nothing quite like a big European occasion under the lights at Welford Road, and there is bound to be a crackling atmosphere when Tigers and Stade renew old rivalries.
The two teams have played in some classic European fixtures down the years, not least the 2001 at the Parc des Princes in Paris that Tigers famously won 34-30.
In all, Tigers and Stade Francais have met eight times in Europe’s top-flight tournament, most recently in the 2007 quarter-finals at Welford Road.
The game is included on the Tigers season ticket. And if you hold season tickets for under-10s or juniors, or for children as part of a Tigers family season ticket, the club will exchange these for adult tickets free of charge so you can enjoy the match with family and friends if kick-off is too late for younger members.
Match tickets are available now on 0116 319 8888 (option 2), online by clicking here and from the Welford Road ticket office.
Or why not kick-off the European season in style with world-class hospitality at the home of world-class rugby. Speak to the Tigers hospitality team on 0116 2171 215 or book online by clicking here.
