Ticket sales to support young fan's memory

Leicester Tigers have set up a special cashback code for supporters to use to purchase tickets for Sunday’s match against Bath in memory of young Owen Jenkins who lost his life in helping to help others earlier this summer.

The 12-year-old Owen, who played his rugby at Nottingham Casuals, died in attempting to rescue two girls who were in trouble in the water at Beeston Marina last month.

Using a special code, a percentage of the ticket price will be donated to the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) which is the leading provider of water safety and drowning prevention education.

Around 400 people die from drowning in the UK every year and this is a leading cause of accidental death among children.

As a club, Tigers were touched by the tragic news of Owen’s passing. We are keen to help support the families and charities associated by raising awareness and funds for The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) and have introduced a cashback scheme on tickets for the opening Aviva Premiership game of the new season against Bath this Sunday.

These can be purchased at the normal advanced price rate and by using the code NOTTSCAS18 a percentage donated to charity. Use this link to but online www.leicestertigers.com/owenjenkinsdonations

Members of Nottingham Casuals RFC have been invited to Sunday’s match to support this charity and raise awareness so that more lives can be saved in relation to water safety.
