Tigers Academy to face Exiles in League Final

Leicester Tigers will face London Irish in the Under-18 Academy League Final at Sixways Stadium next Sunday (February 16).

League champions in each of the last two seasons, Tigers topped the Northern Conference with five wins from six rounds which concluded with a 34-20 defeat against Wasps on Saturday.

Newcastle Falcons, Worcester Warriors and Wasps fought out the other places in the top three for an opportunity to play against their Southern Conference counterparts on Finals Day at the home of the Warriors.

London Irish sealed top spot in the South with a 47-19 win over bottom-of-the-table Exeter Chiefs in their sixth fixture.

The Exiles ran in seven tries to finish their regular season as the highest tryscorers in both conferences with 34 in six games.

Saracens, bath, Harlequins, Bristol and Gloucester – who were beaten by Tigers in the Final in 2018 and 2019 – all remained in the tussle for second and third place in the league programme’s final weekend.
