Leicester Tigers are going for a live music double with confirmation that Brit Award winner James Morrison will perform at Welford Road this summer.

Singer songwriter Morrison will take centre-stage at the home of Tigers on Thursday, July 15. This follows the announcement that Will Young will play Welford Road on Friday, July 16. A full supporting bill for each date is to be confirmed.

Leicester Tigers chairman Peter Tom CBE said: "We are delighted to announce James Morrison as part of a double bill of live concerts at Leicester Tigers this summer.

"We have had so many fantastic Welford Road occasions in the past with the visits of teams such as South Africa and the Barbarians as well as big European games, and we look forward to two more great events.

"These will be Leicester's first stadium concerts and promise to provide a summer highlight."

James Morrison won the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist in 2007. His debut single You Give Me Something was a huge hit in Europe, Australia and Japan while his multi-platinum selling debut album Undiscovered was number one in the UK Albums Chart. His most recent album, Songs For You, Truths For Me, is another multi-platinum seller and spawned four hit singles. He enjoyed a huge worldwide hit in 2009 with Broken Strings, his duet with Nelly Furtado.

Ticket details are set to be announced next week. Keep an eye on www.leicestertigers.com for details.
