Tigers community | free 'walking rugby' session

Leicester Tigers fans are invited to take part in a walking rugby taster session as part of a new community programme.

A variation of the game designed for people of all ages and abilities to play a less physical version of rugby union, Leicester Tigers community team will be hosting a session at De Montfort University's brand new sports facility, Beaumont Park (LE4 1ES).

Opened last year, Beaumont Park is a state of the art facility with a 3G pitch where the session will take place from 10.00am – 11.00am on Wednesday, January 22.

Whether you’re a retired rugby player or simply looking to try something new, walking rugby is a game that is as much about socialising as it is about playing and staying active.

Played at a slower pace to allow for all abilities, teams will take part in a touch rugby session with a view to the initiative becoming a fully-fledged programme.

The taster event is FREE for all to attend, and groups of friends or colleagues are encouraged as well as any existing rugby club Vets teams or community groups.

If you’re looking to take part in a new, fun, team activity whilst staying active and healthy, please contact [email protected] to get involved or call 0116 217 1315
