Tigers stars Matt Smith and Dan Cole will be joining young players at Oakham RFC this coming Sunday, November 18 for the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup festival.

The under-11 and under-12 grassroots rugby festival is part of a series of nationwide events which provide aspiring young players the opportunity to play in a competitive event, as well as meet current stars from the Tigers first team.

With more than 400 Tigers appearances between the two of them, tighthead Cole and centre Smith will be cheering on 36 teams from around the UK as 2,000 people are expected to turn out.

The events are designed to provide young players with a chance to play age appropriate competitive fixtures within the spirit of rugby’s core values.

As part of the Leicestershire festival, one lucky team from each age group will be invited on a trip to watch the Gallagher Premiership Rugby Final on June 1.

Here, they will meet a Land Rover rugby ambassador and join in a Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup Parade at half-time at Twickenham and find out if they have been named as the Land Rover Junior Discovery of the Season.

Since its inception in 2008, the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup has seen more than 82,000 children from all over the country take part.

So, get involved at Oakham RFC this weekend and support the young stars of your local clubs.

If you’re heading down, be sure to share your snaps supporting the next generation with Tigers social channels.
