New signing David Denton says Leicester Tigers feels like a natural fit for him.
Denton has linked up with his new team-mates following his summer arrival from Worcester Warriors. and is working hard in pre-season training at Oval Park.
The Scotland international back-rower feels his game is suited to the Tigers style of rugby.
He said: “I wanted to go somewhere that, first and foremost, suited the way I wanted to play rugby.
“I think the way Leicester are playing at the moment there are different aspects to the game but at the front of it, is a physical game, an abrasive game. I think that is something that I can contribute too.”
Denton praised the work of the coaching staff at Oval Park since his return for pre-season training, and said he feels in good shape as he builds towards the start of the Gallagher Premiership campaign.
“The standard of coaching at all levels, in terms of the rugby and the strength and conditioning is outstanding,” said Denton, who toured the USA, Canada and Argentina with Scotland during the summer.
“It is noticeable from day one. The S&C is something very different from what I have experienced before, the way they manage it, and my body feels brilliant for it already and it is 10 days or so in.”
