With two wins out of two in pre-season, Leicester Tigers now turn attention to the final warm-up fixture, against the Ospreys at Welford Road on Friday evening, ahead of the Aviva Premiership season-opener against Bath on Sunday, September 3.
“It’s another step on the journey to the first league game of the season,” said head coach Matt O’Connor after Tigers followed up an away win over the Ospreys with a 47-12 verdict against visitors Benetton Treviso on Friday.
“We’ll work hard at the front end of the week and taper in the end of the week and hopefully be a better again on Friday.
“We’ve still got a few players to bring in but we’re getting gametime into the whole squad and we want everyone ready for September 3 and that first game with Bath.”
Matt Toomua, Logovii Mulipola and Tom Brady all gained gametime against Treviso after injury lay-offs, while Tom Youngs, George McGuigan, Dom Barrow, Sione Kalamafoni and Dominic Ryan were among those who made their first appearance of the pre-season period.
Tickets for Friday are available now, with prices from £12 adults and £5 juniors. This game is included in season tickets.
