The new season's programme of supporters' events at Welford Road kicks off tomorrow (Tuesday) with the popular Try Comedy night - and supporters can still secure their place.

Held in conjunction with Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival in the Try Line Club in the Goldsmiths Stand, it promises to an evening of top-class comedy.

Tickets are priced £10, which includes a free pint of Everards Tiger bitter, the official beer of the Leicester Tigers, and food will be available to order. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 8pm.

Lloyd Griffith will compere the night, which also features the talents of Marcel Lucont, Kate Lucas and Johnny Pelham.

Griffith was the compere at the last Try Comedy event at Welford Road in March and also hosted a tour of the stadium with a difference to coincide with Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival in February. Dressed in full Tigers kit, funnyman Griffith's tour took in all areas of the ground and incorporated some fabulously funny - and fictional - stories from Tigers' history.

As seen on BBC3’s Russell Howard’s Good News, Live at the Electric and Sky Atlantic's Set List, Marcel Lucont is the self-proclaimed greatest French comedian in the UK. He is the winner of the 2012 Amused Moose Award for the Best Comedy Show at the Edinburgh Fringe and the 2013 Fringe World Award for Best Comedy. Click here to get a flavor of his act.

Kate Lucas is this year’s Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, joining previous winners such as Johnny Vegas, Jason Manford and Rhod Gilbert, and has supported the likes of Ed Byrne, Jo Brand and Harry Hill.

Johnny Pelham, meanwhile, was a finalist in last year’s BBC Radio New Comedy Awards and runner-up in the Chortle Student Comedy Award and So You Think You’re Funny in 2012.

Tickets are available now from the Welford Road ticket office, on 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or online by clicking here.

Tickets are also available for all other Try Tuesdays supporters events, including the popular Pub Quiz on Tuesday, February 10 and the DX End of Season Awards Night on Tuesday, April 28. Click here to book your place.
