Tigers in the Park: Kicking off the music

With less than a month until Tigers welcome Newcastle Falcons to Welford Road for the first Gallagher Premiership home fixture of the season, this year’s annual Tigers in the Park event is shaping up to be our best yet.

On Saturday, September 8, we’ll be taking over Nelson Mandela Park, opposite Welford Road, for a day of FREE activities and entertainment for all the family before Tigers face Newcastle Falcons (3.00pm).

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be looking at the acts, bands and entertainment who will be joining us for ‘The Grrreatest Show’.

First up, let us introduce the local bands and artists who will be getting fans in the mood ahead of kick-off.

The Smarties

The Smarties return for a second year to Tigers in the Park taking to the stage to perform covers of everything Pop, Indie, Rock 'n' Roll and Blues.

Heralding from Market Harborough, the three-piece band met in 2016 and have even played with ‘The One and Only’ Chesney Hawkes. Check out the video below.

The Hashtags

Also from Market Harborough, The Hashtags are made up of Rob, Chris, Elliot and Rikki.

Their electric acoustic covers include their take on music from the likes of the Foo Fighters, Nickelback, You Me At Six, Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran, George Ezra, James Bay, Mumford and Sons and Bring Me The Horizon to name a few.

Watch drummer Elliot in full flow on the drums

Jaco Diederiks

Acoustic artist Jaco Diederiks will be on hand with his guitar bringing feel good vibes to Tigers in the Park.

His first time at Tigers in the Park, we’re sure the #TigersFamily will welcome him with open arms. Check out his YouTube channel by clicking here

Gates open from 11.00am until kick-off and admission is FREE.

Keep an eye on the website for further details of the full-line up to be announced in the run-up to ‘The Grrreatest Show’.
