Leicester Tigers have launched a three-day coaching course for girls only as part of the club's summer programme.

The Welford Road club's community department already has a packed programme of rugby coaching courses for young players scheduled throughout the year, but the girls-only course represents something new.

The inaugural girls-only course, which is aimed at players aged 12-17, will be held at Sleaford Rugby Club and will focus on the core elements of the game.

The core work includes handling; lines of running and support play; contact skills in tackle, ruck and maul; defensive principles and organisation; and the set-piece.

Along with the usual Tigers memorabilia, T-shirt, drinks bottle and rugby ball, a hot lunch will be provided and three full days of rugby activity led by some of Tigers' top academy and community coaches.
