Leicester Tigers missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the Aviva 'A' League on points difference following the final round of pool-stage fixtures.
Tigers finished the five-game season on 15 points after a 41-40 defeat by Worcester Cavaliers on Sunday and had to wait until Monday evening to discover their fate.
Northampton Saints qualified in top spot from the Northern Conference thanks to a 32-3 win over Sale Jets on Monday and then Wasps claimed a bonus-point win against Newcastle Falcons to equal the Tigers points total. Their 51-26 victory, though, allowed them to move into second place on points difference (+58) ahead of Tigers (+39) after both sides had finished on three wins from five games.
Northampton Wanderers will host Saracens Storm in the semi-finals, with Southern Conference leaders Gloucester United at home to Wasps.
