In Issue #2 of LTTV's brand new series, Tigers Next Generation, we catch up with Academy front-rower Alex Maxwell.
Maxwell, who was not only a part of the club's U18 League Grand Final winning side but also a member of the Scotland U18 squad last year discusses his debut season in the Leicester Academy, his surprise at a call up to the Scottish squad and what it was like to run out at Murrayfield and come up against his Tigers team mate George Martin on the international stage.
The prop tells LTTV about what is driving this year's squad and why last year's high standards are now a minimum for the new group to build upon, as well as how pre-season training is going ahead of the new campaign. We also find out what drives the young man and how it feels to be training alongside world class front-rowers at Tigers like Dan Cole, Tatafu Polota-Nau and Tom Youngs each day.
Throughout the summer, Next Generation will introduce the Tigers Family to this year's Academy Squad and hear from the youngsters on a range of topics, including how they're coping with the pre-season schedule, what it means to be a part of the club, where their rugby journeys began, where they're hopeful of taking them and much more.
Keep an eye on LTTV during the summer for more editions of Next Generation including chats with England U18s lock George Martin, centre Billy Hull and many, many more members of the 2018/19 Leicester Tigers Academy Squad.
