Tigers Rugby Camps in the Channel Islands

Figure image
Leicester Tigers are heading back to the Channel Islands for two more Tigers Rugby Camps, starting at Jersey Rugby Club next week.

Thanks to the continued support of Ashburton Investments and the islands’ rugby academies, Tigers will return for a week in Jersey (July 21-25) and then Guernsey (August 26-29), providing top-class coaching for young players.

Tigers favourite and former All Blacks back-rower Craig Newby is head coach for the Jersey week.

Players aged under-9 to under-14 next season can join us on the full week’s contact-based course while younger players can join us for three mornings of tag rugby with the Tigers.

The Guernsey camp will be led by former Tigers and England hooker George Chuter, winner of six Premiership titles with the club and the first man to make 250 appearances in top-flight rugby.

Tigers head of community, Scott Clarke, said: “We’ve had great interest in our two Tigers Rugby Camps in the Channel Islands and the coaching team are looking forward to another visit.

“Tigers have been visiting the Channel Islands for a number of years and the passion for the game grows there every year. The Rugby Academies at Jersey and Guernsey have done an amazing job of promoting the game and establishing their own development programme, which we are happy to support.

“Ashburton Investments have been superb in their support of the Leicester Tigers Ashburton Camps and we would like to thank managing director Peter Bourne and all his team who help to make the Camps special weeks for everyone involved.”

Places on both Channel Islands camps are still available. For more details or to book your place, see the Community section of the club website by clicking here.
