Tigers Rugby Camps return to Channel Islands

Leicester Tigers are delighted to return to the Channel Islands this summer for two more Tigers Rugby Camps.

Thanks to the continued support of Ashburton Investments and the islands’ rugby academies, Tigers will return for a week in Jersey (July 21-25) and a return trip to Guernsey (August 26-29), providing top-class coaching for young players.

Tigers favourite and former All Blacks back-rower Craig Newby will be head coach for the Jersey week. Players aged under-9 to under-14 next season can join us on the full week’s contact-base course while younger players can join us for three mornings of tag rugby with the Tigers.

The Guernsey camp will be led by former Tigers and England hooker George Chuter, winner of six Premiership titles and the first man to make 250 appearances in top-flight rugby.

Tigers’ head of community, Scott Clarke, said: “We’ve already got strong interest in our two Tigers Rugby Camps in the Channel Islands and the coaching team are looking forward to another visit.

“Tigers have been visiting the Channel Islands for a number of years and the passion for the game of rugby grows there every year. The Rugby Academies at Jersey and Guernsey have done an amazing job of promoting the game and establishing their own development programme, which we are happy to support.

“Ashburton Investments have been superb in their support of the Leicester Tigers Ashburton Camps and we would like to thank managing director Peter Bourne and all his team who help to make the Camps special weeks for everyone involved.”
