Tigers set for Leicestershire Show

Supporters will have the chance to meet Leicester Tigers players and take part in exclusive activities as The Maul completes its final assignment of the summer at the Leicestershire County Show next weekend.

The club will be present at both days of the show at Market Harborough Showground on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25.

Supporters will also have the chance to meet Tigers forwards David Denton and Charlie Clare, who will be making an appearance at the show on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Each summer, the club’s roadshow vehicle The Maul – jam-packed with activities including Welford’s Wheel, Fordy’s Kicking Challenge and the inflatable Tackle Bag – visits country shows and events across the Tigers region, having already toured Rutland, Lincolnshire and Norfolk so far this summer, with a visit to the Heckington Show in Sleaford last time out.

The weather forecast for Leicestershire’s showpiece event looks to be an improvement on Heckington – where the Maul had to be re-purposed as a recovery vehicle when torrential rain forced organisers to cut the second day of the festival short.

Despite all of that, it didn’t dampen the spirits of these show-goers!

Fans at the Leicestershire Show have the chance to take part in a new competition for Fordy’s Kicking Challenge where individuals have five balls to score as many points as you can to enter our leaderboard. The person with the highest score at the end of the day will win an exclusive prize!

There will also be an opportunity to try your hand at our Big Boot challenge in the main demonstration area on both days.

If you’re heading to the Leicestershire Show, be sure to come along and meet the team and Welford. There will be prizes, ‘Welfies’ galore and the chance to test your rugby skills!

Don’t forget to get involved across Leicester Tigers social media channels using @LeicesterTigers and the hashtag #TigersFamily.
