Tigers Wheelchair stars set for Euro semi with Great Britain

Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby players and staff representing Great Britain at this year’s European Championships have reached the semi-finals.

Tigers players Nick Cummins, Jamie Stead and Gavin Walker go into their knockout match with the rest of the Great Britain team against France in Koblenz, Germany later today. The game starts at 2pm BST.

Great Britain are coached by Paul Shaw alonsgide Tigers assistant coaches Rob Tarr and Darren Matthews.

They topped Pool B beating Denmark, Ireland and Poland in the group stages to set up the semi-final showdown.

France recorded impressive wins in Pool A against Germany and Poland, and lost to 2015 tournament runners up Sweden by one point.

The European Championships sees teams from eight nations battle it out and, by making it through to the knockout stages of the tournament, Great Britain have also qualified for the World Championships in Sydney next year.

Great Britain and France tip off at 2pm today. Sweden and Denmark battle it out in the other semi-final at 5pm. The winners will meet in the final on Saturday.
