Marcos Ayerza says Leicester Tigers will take it game-by-game as they chase a place in the Aviva Premiership play-off place.Tigers host Sale Sharks at Welford Road this Saturday, a team with which they are level on points in the Aviva Premiership table and victory could lift them into them into the top four.
Ayerza, the Aviva Man-of-the-Match in Tigers’ 12-6 win at London Irish last week, says the league is as competitive as it has ever been but that Tigers can only concentrate on their own game.
“It’s amazing how the league has become so competitive this year,” says Ayerza. “There are eight or nine teams fighting for the top four spots.
“We broke this period up into four games. We have had a good win against Gloucester at home, a good win at London Irish and it’s a matter of taking it game-by-game.
“We have seven games to play and there is still a lot to play for. We are still optimistic that we can make the top four.
“We pride ourselves on wearing the Tigers shirt, it’s a huge honour to wear the Tigers shirt and we will fight for the Tigers shirt.”
Match tickets for Tigers’ home game against Sale Sharks are available now from the Welford Road ticket office, by calling 0116 319 8888 (option 2) and online by clicking here.
The game is not scheduled for live TV coverage. The only place to watch it live and in full is at Welford Road.
