Leicester Tigers today said farewell to a familiar face at Welford Road as Kate Allnutt retired after 18 years of service to the club.

Members of staff joined Kate in The Clubhouse in the Robin Hood Stand for a lunch to celebrate her time at Welford Road.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to be part of the Tigers Family, I have loved every day,” said Kate, who hit the headlines herself in 2009 when she won an episode of the popular BBC quiz show The Weakest Link.

“The Welford Road stadium has changed massively since I first arrived but it remains unique and will hold a special place in my heart.

“I have met so many wonderful people, made so many wonderful friends and have so many wonderful memories that I will treasure.”

Kate is set to watch the team as a supporter on Sunday when she will enjoy VIP hospitality in the Premiership Suite in the Holland & Barrett Stand at the Aviva Premiership season opener against Bath Rugby.

From everyone at Welford Road, we send our sincerest thanks and very best wishes for the future to Kate, her husband Bryan and to their family.
