Tigers prop Marcos Ayerza has lodged an appeal against the decision of the independent Disciplinary Committee regarding the citing arising from the Heineken Cup quarter-final match against Stade Francais Paris at Welford Road, on Sunday, Apri 1.

An independent Appeal Committee will be convened on Wednesday, April 18 to hear the appeal. The independent Appeal Committee will comprise Professor Lorne Crerar, Rod McKenzie (both Scotland) and Dr Barry O'Driscoll (Ireland).

The independent Disciplinary Committee found Mr Ayerza guilty of striking Stade Français Paris back row forward Remy Martin and the Committee suspended the player for a period of three weeks up to and including April 30, 2007. The player was also ordered to pay the costs of the hearing.
