Leicester Tigers will take on Gloucester Rugby in the Premiership Rugby U18s Academy League Grand Final after both teams topped their conferences in the regular season.
Tigers beat Newcastle Falcons 47-7 at Oval Park on Saturday to guarantee top spot in the Northern Conference, while Gloucester topped the Southern Conference after finishing their campaign with a 72-12 win against neighbours Bristol Rugby.
Tigers and Gloucester finished the regular season unbeaten, though something will have to give when they play each other on Premiership Rugby Under 18 Academy Finals Day at Allianz Park on Sunday, March 11.
“It was a really good performance against Newcastle,” said back-rower Henri Lavin. “We worked hard for the result.
“What we wanted was to not be complacent and finish with an unbeaten season on top of the conference.
“We’ll go back, look at what didn’t go so well and take the key points of the review to work on and keep improving as team.
“In pre-season we worked hard on coming together, doing bonding sessions, and we’ve all bought in to it.
“We’ll go into the final feeling confident. We back ourselves and will go out there to show what we’re about and play to our strengths.”
