The Capital East Midlands Drivetime Show with Tom & Claire will broadcast live from Welford Road this Thursday (April 6).
Capital East Midlands presenter Claire Chambers is running three marathons in three days in three cities around the East Midlands – Leicester, Nottingham and Derby.
Claire is raising money for Global’s Make Some Noise, the charity set up by Global, the media & entertainment group that is home to Capital, to give a voice to small projects that struggle to raise awareness.
After completing her second marathon in Leicester, Claire will head to Welford Road to present the Capital Drive show from 4pm to 7pm from The Clubhouse Suite in the Robin Hood Stand.
As well as going behind the scenes at Welford Road, Claire will have a professional sports massage from sports injury management specialists Function Jigsaw to aid her recovery and club mascot Welford will teach her co-presenter Tom Watts how to rugby tackle.
Leena Saller, Tigers conference and events sales executive, said: “When we heard about Claire’s amazing marathon plans, we wanted to show our support to help her raise even more money for Global’s Make Some Noise, which helps disadvantaged youngsters across the UK living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.”
Claire, who will run nearly 80 miles across the week, added: “Where better than the home of the most successful English rugby union club to help spur me on?
“Leicester Tigers have an incredible fan base, so it’s great to have them involved to help raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise.
“We have lots planned for Thursday’s Capital Drivetime show and as you can imagine, we’re very excited to be invited behind the scenes at the famous Welford Road.”
