Tigers trio on Goldsmiths Award shortlist

Julian Salvi has been nominated for a second successive time for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month award.

Salvi is shortlisted for the October award after supporters voted him the September winner. He received his award – a Goldsmiths gift voucher – after full-time of last weekend’s Aviva Premiership victory over Harlequins and said it would provide a perfect present for his wife Emma, who is currently 34 weeks pregnant.

Salvi, the leading tackler in the Aviva Premiership after the opening six rounds, is joined on the three-man shortlist for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month for October by Graham Kitchener and Owen Williams.

Kitchener earns his first nomination of the season after a series of excellent performances in the second row. His work on both Tigers and opposition lineouts has been eye-catching and he has also provided a big threat with ball in hand.

Williams, meanwhile, has displayed his versatility by slotting in at centre after the Tigers squad were hit by injuries.

He kicked 17 points to help Tigers to victory over Harlequins after landing 11 points against Gloucester in the previous fixture.

The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.

Supporters can vote for their player of the month on the Goldsmiths Facebook page at www.facebook.com/GoldsmithsUK
