Leicester Tigers Academy players Matthew Everard and George Ford were among the points as England opened their Under-18s Five Nations Festival campaign with a 61-3 win over Italy.

England ran in nine tries against the host nation in Parma, Italy, on Easter Sunday with openside flanker Everard among the scorers.

Christian Wade (3), Jack Wallace (2), Owen Farrell, Sam Edgerley, and Sam Jones were also among the tries while Tigers fly-half Ford kept the scoreboard ticking over with eight conversions.

Tigers Academy teammate Ryan Bower enjoyed a second-half run out after coming on as a 55th minute replacement.

England play their second Five Nations Festival game against Scotland on Wednesday (kick-off 6.30pm BST) in Parma, Italy.

Everard is one of only five players to start both games and retains his place at openside flanker. Bower has been selected at tighthead prop while Ford is named on the bench.
