Leicester Tigers completed 2009 without defeat at Welford Road as Sale Sharks were beaten 32-6 on Sunday.
Tigers were unbeaten in 15 games at Welford Road during the year, including the historic 22-17 win over world champions South Africa in November.
“Welford Road is a huge factor for us,” said head coach Richard Cockerill. “We have a good home record and we love playing there but we also have to earn the right to win games, home or away.
“The players love to play with the crowd behind them. Teams come here knowing it is a hard place to win. That is a big help to us but we have to perform. We need to play as well as we can and show we are a good side.”
