Poite inspected the Welford Road pitch this morning with Tigers head coach Richard Cockerill and Wasps coaching team Tony Hanks and Shaun Edwards and was happy with the playing surface and the surrounding areas.
Volunteers, including the under-14s team from Oadby Wyggestonian RFC, have been clearing snow from the pitch side, terraces and stands.
Tigers head of stadium operation Charles Rayner said: “After the snow flurries overnight we’ve had more than 100 volunteers on site this morning, clearing and gritting the terrace and the areas inside the stadium.
“And Leicester City Council have gritted extensively on the pavements and roads on the approaches to Welford Road.
“It’s been a fantastic effort by everyone.”
The Welford Road pitch has been covered all week and snow was removed from the top of the covers on Wednesday. Warm-air blowers have kept the worst of the elements off the playing surface.
The covers will remain in place until close to kick-off at 3.15pm.
Supporters are advised to allow plenty of time for their journey.
