Welford Road will this week welcome 200 business leaders from across the East Midlands for an international Gateway to China event as part of the Leicester Business Festival 2017.
This free event on Thursday (October 26) will include a presentation from key speaker Minister Counsellor Jin Xu, the Chinese government’s representative for economy and trade based in the UK Embassy.
As part of Leicester Business Festival, the Gateway to China event is designed to encourage local businesses to learn more about trade and investment with China and will include workshops. It will bring together inward investors as well as businesses based in the Midlands with aspirations for growth via international trade with China.
Leicester City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby met with Dr Jin Xu earlier this year and will be opening the event.
He said: “We are so pleased to have welcomed Mr Jin Xu and his delegation to Leicester and are extremely grateful that he has agreed to be our key speaker. We look forward to a long working relationship with Mr Jin Xu and his colleagues”.
As one of the region’s most iconic venue’s, Welford Road provides the ideal backdrop for the festival’s international presentation as Tigers continue to expand the club’s global partnership programme.
Leicester Business Festival 2017 runs until November 3 and is now in its third year. With hundreds of events in the programme spanning the key sectors of communications, marketing and business support, professional and financial services, retail and food and drink, to tourism and hospitality, logistics, creative industries and much more.
